Seniors Interested in Sororities/Fraternities

Hello!

My name is Liz Osborne, and I am the Coordinator of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs at Oklahoma State University.  I received your contact information from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions because of your role as a high school administrator.  Please consider passing this information on to your students who might be interested in joining a culturally-based fraternity or sorority.

Greek Discovery Day is an exciting event where high school juniors and seniors and their parents and current OSU students are invited to visit Oklahoma State University to learn more about OSU and the fraternity and sorority community.  This year’s event will take place on April 6, 2013.  Please visit http://union.okstate.edu/GoGreek/GDD.htm for detailed information.

Greek Discovery Day is not just for students interested in joining the Interfraternity Council or Panhellenic Council organizations!  Representatives of the Divine Nine, or the National Pan-Hellenic Council, will also be in attendance to discuss membership in a historically Black Greek-Letter Organization and the intake process.  The following NPHC organizations are currently on campus:

·         Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
·         Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
·         Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
·         Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
·         Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
·         Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Representatives of the Multicultural Greek Council will also be present to meet with interested students to discuss membership in a fraternity or sorority founded to serve underrepresented populations and the intake process.  The Multicultural Greek Council includes the following organizations:

·         Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc.
·         Epsilon Xi Gamma, Inc.

Registration can be completed online at http://union.okstate.edu/GoGreek/GDD.htm.  Registration is $45 per student.  Family members may attend at no additional charge.  Registration must be completed by March 22 at noon in order to receive a T-shirt.  Extra shirts will be available onsite for purchase on a first come, first served basis.  Preregistration ends at noon on April 1.  Registration after the 1st must be done onsite.

This year’s event will be held in Gallagher-Iba Arena.  Onsite registration and check-in will begin at 9 a.m.  Structured events—which include an informational browse session, remarks from university administration, intake sessions for men and women, and a panel for parents—will continue until approximately 3 p.m.

For more information, please contact my office using the information in my signature below.  If you’d like fliers to distribute to your students, please respond with your preferred mailing address and desired number of fliers.

Thanks and Go Pokes!
