Rachel's Challenges

A reminder of Rachel's Challenges

Seniors Interested in Sororities/Fraternities

Hello!

My name is Liz Osborne, and I am the Coordinator of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs at Oklahoma State University.  I received your contact information from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions because of your role as a high school administrator.  Please consider passing this information on to your students who might be interested in joining a culturally-based fraternity or sorority.

Greek Discovery Day is an exciting event where high school juniors and seniors and their parents and current OSU students are invited to visit Oklahoma State University to learn more about OSU and the fraternity and sorority community.  This year’s event will take place on April 6, 2013.  Please visit http://union.okstate.edu/GoGreek/GDD.htm for detailed information.

Greek Discovery Day is not just for students interested in joining the Interfraternity Council or Panhellenic Council organizations!  Representatives of the Divine Nine, or the National Pan-Hellenic Council, will also be in attendance to discuss membership in a historically Black Greek-Letter Organization and the intake process.  The following NPHC organizations are currently on campus:

·         Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
·         Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
·         Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
·         Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
·         Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
·         Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Representatives of the Multicultural Greek Council will also be present to meet with interested students to discuss membership in a fraternity or sorority founded to serve underrepresented populations and the intake process.  The Multicultural Greek Council includes the following organizations:

·         Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc.
·         Epsilon Xi Gamma, Inc.

Registration can be completed online at http://union.okstate.edu/GoGreek/GDD.htm.  Registration is $45 per student.  Family members may attend at no additional charge.  Registration must be completed by March 22 at noon in order to receive a T-shirt.  Extra shirts will be available onsite for purchase on a first come, first served basis.  Preregistration ends at noon on April 1.  Registration after the 1st must be done onsite.

This year’s event will be held in Gallagher-Iba Arena.  Onsite registration and check-in will begin at 9 a.m.  Structured events—which include an informational browse session, remarks from university administration, intake sessions for men and women, and a panel for parents—will continue until approximately 3 p.m.

For more information, please contact my office using the information in my signature below.  If you’d like fliers to distribute to your students, please respond with your preferred mailing address and desired number of fliers.

Thanks and Go Pokes!

Oklahoma Business Week for 9th-12th graders

Please share this information with the teachers and 9th-12th grade students (even graduating seniors) in your school that would benefit from unparalleled experience in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership.

Students can combine the summer fun they crave with real world business experience. Plus, they will take a test run of college life, meet new friends, strengthen their leadership skills, explore their career options, and get the chance to win a scholarship or a laptop computer. All in just one week!  Watch this video to learn more!

Oklahoma Business Week is a one-of-a-kind summer program that offers firsthand experience with the world of business! Participants become part of a “company” and work together in various events and competitions! Everyone will also have the opportunity to interact and learn from business leaders. Students and teachers will gain skills in leadership, communication, team building, responsibility, money management, entrepreneurship, marketing and more. At OBW you’ll learn the business world can be serious stuff, but it can also be fun!

Oklahoma Business Week will be held on the campus of East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, June 2-7, 2013. Participants will live in the dorms and participate in a variety of activities on the ECU campus. This is a great opportunity for students to get a feel of what college life is like!

The cost for camp, including all meals and housing, is $150 per participant. OBW camp is over a $750 value but due to our generous supporters, we are able to cover most expenses.

Application review begins March 1st.  We only have slots for 100 student participants and 10 teacher participants, so don’t delay in encouraging potential participants to apply.

For more information, a link to the video, or for an application visit www.okbusweek.com.

Oklahoma Business Week.  Real World Experience.  Life Changing Results.

By sharing this email with potentially great student or teacher Oklahoma Business Week participants, you are helping grow future business leaders in Oklahoma.

If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your time,
